An app focused on increasing customer satisfaction while on the destination.
Apollo – and all other traditional tour operators – had in the recent years discovered that a new generation of travelers were less likely to get in contact with tour guides while on the destination. In order to still inspire and sell ancillaries such as excursions, a new mobile touch point was built.
Johan did the UX work for an destination app that made it possible for Apollo’s charter guests to on its own explore the destination, get inspired, use an interactive map and book excursions.
Johan’s work consisted of both user research (e.g. interviews), interaction design as well as usability tests.
Even with changing customer behavior, Apollo could still “communicate” with the guest despite being abroad and lacking data connectivity. The app was a pilot project for Gran Canaria and later on refined and launched for all of Apollo’s destinations.
